Honey Soy Glaze + Tofu with Rice & Veggies
Ingredients
Glaze
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 TBS. honey
squeeze of fresh lime juice from 1/2 a lime
1 tsp toasted sesame oil
a few slices of fresh ginger, finely chopped
1 finely chopped scallion
1 TBS Hibiscus & Yuzu bitters
pinch of kosher salt
Meal
1, 12 oz container of firm tofu* drained between kitchen towels
White rice, cooked
Veggies, cooked
Instructions
Add all glaze ingredients to a bowl and whisk together, set aside
Cut tofu block into medium-sized squares
Heat 1/2 cup vegetable oil in a skillet over medium
Carefully add tofu when oil is hot
Cook, undisturbed until very crisp and brown
Drain on paper towels
Discard oil & return pan to heat & add honey/soy sauce mixture
Baste tofu occasionally until glaze is thick
Remove from pan & drizzle with any remaining glaze.
Serve with a side of rice with veggies, gyoza & egg roll
