Our Decade Orange is made from 10 varieties of Oranges, and barrel aged for 1 year in a Proverbial Spirits Rum Barrel, it’s an Orange Bitters like you’ve never had before!
In preparation for our 10 year anniversary we were brainstorming a new flavor to release in celebration of our decade in business. We wanted a flavor we could repeat year after year, that was approachable, yet had our unique Bitters Lab twist you’ve all come to know and love over these last 10 years….
Enter our Decade Orange Bitters.
We know what you’re thinking, “An orange bitters? well that’s not unique or new?” I know, but this one is different, promise. Let me explain.
From day one in business, I said we would never release an orange bitters. Why? Because orange has been done, by every single brand out there, this is as true today as it was 10 years ago. So instead, I set out to create unique combination flavors that represented a gap in the market, i.e. flavors that did not exist - thus, I decided not to offer an orange bitters at the time.
We’ve had a very successful run doing just that ever since, by releasing flavors like Blueberry Cardamom, Charred Cedar & Currant, Burnt Honey Hops, and more!
So, why an orange bitters now? It’s simple: To celebrate, baby!
This Orange Bitters is not like all the others; we created it using 10 different types of oranges, from Blood Orange, to Haitian Bitter Orange, to Bergamot, and more! We basically picked a variety for every year we’ve been in business. They are all different enough from one another to create nuanced layers of orange from savory, to bitter, to sweet, to floral. We then went one step further by barrel aging it for a full year in a Rum Barrel.
And that’s pretty much it - no baking spices, no vanilla, no additives… just 10 varieties of orange, a few complimentary bitter roots, and time spent in a barrel.

Suggested Uses:
Drinks: Pairs well with literally everything. Yes, it’s true. But especially aged or silver rum, gin, cognac, whiskey, tequila and amaro…. Make a Bijou, Negroni, or Sidecar, a light and flavorful gin & tonic, or use it in sparkling water for a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage.
Food: Excellent in baked goods and frostings. Great with chicken & salmon dishes, and it makes the perfect addition to vinaigrette and marinades!
