This is flavor started out as a summer seasonal flavor available from June - August every year,. But in January 2022 we moved this flavor into our core-flavors, it’s now available 365 days a year!

 

Try It In

Food:

  • Excellent in baked goods and frostings

  • Great with chicken & salmon dishes

  • Try it in home-made salad dressings

Drinks:

  • Pairs well with rum, vodka, gin, cognac, and whiskey based cocktails

  • Make a burnt honey old fashioned, a light and flavorful gin & tonic

  • Use in sparkling water for a refreshing mocktail 

 

Behind the Bitters

We first released this flavor in the summer of 2016.

It’s made with local Utah honey that we cook down, nearly to burnt status. This flavor has delicate fruity characteristics of grapefruit, bright orange, and lime. There is a deep earthiness from the burnt honey - a dark rich flavor combined with the citrus notes in the hops really awakens the palate.

This flavor is really fun because each year we try to use a different style of hops; sometimes they’re given to us from friends and customers who have hops growing on their property, sometimes we purchase them, and sometimes they come from a brewery we partner with. We add a few other select herbs, spices, bitter roots & barks which bring this whole flavor together. 

We encourage use of this flavor in a myriad of recipes from vinaigrette to cakes and with savory dishes alike.
