August News
Hello there friends,
Welcome to our August newsletter… the last one of the summer!
We wanted to thank you all so much for your continued support - with your help during our July 5% giveback, we were able to make a donation to National Network of Abortion funds this morning of $250!
August is going to be such a great month, full of events & classes! We’re returning to Craft Lake City (after a 2 year hiatus) on August 12th, and we have four fun classes to choose from this month, plus even more scheduled through October!! Not to mention an updated Happy List for you!
New Happy List:
We enjoyed watching/listening to:
Big Thief Tiny Desk
This great video of a Biologist answering questions
Have you listened to the playlists for our most recent set of classes yet? We’re a little biased, but we think we put together some good tunes for ya!
We posted a few new cocktail recipes on the ‘gram…
CRAFT LAKE CITY
Our 5th season at Craft Lake City starts on Friday, August 12th - we really hope you’ll stop by to see us!
We put a lot of effort into our new booth design and this will be some of our employees first time at the event. We’ll have all of our bitters, dried citrus, and swag with us, in addition our pre-bottled cocktails mixers are making a comeback, available at Craft Lake City only.
We even built a new bar, some come belly up!
UPCOMING VIRTUAL WORKSHOPS
We have NEW virtual classes for August - October now available.
We’ve got everything from the Spritz to Brandy and a whole series on Entertaining in which we’ll make savory dishes from appetizers to marinades, easy & delightful desserts, and some super fun cocktails that can easily be batched and made ahead for easy-peasy entertaining!
We can’t wait to see you there!
RECIPE
Indulge in this boozy & delightful riff on a banana cream pie we recently concocted for Utah’s Pie & Beer day!
Malted Cocoa Banana "pie"
1.5 oz Sugarhouse Distillery Malt Whiskey
1/2 oz Waterpocket Distillery Cocoa Rum Liqueur
1 bar spoon Banana Liqueur
3 dashes Burnt Honey Hops Bitters
Add all to a mixing glass, add ice & stir, strain into chilled coupe. Top with Fisher Brewing Company Rye Cream Ale. Garnish with dried banana chip or fresh orange peel expressed over the glass.
In case you didn’t hear…
Our brand new, removable, easier to read, stylish AF labels are here. We’ve been rolling out these new flavors as we run out of old labels (waste not, want not) and our first round we released was batch #29 of Charred Cedar & Currant, and batch #20 of Blueberry Cardamom.
What’s new?
Waterproof stickers that are easily removed for maximum reuse of the bottles
Clear & concise color-coded flavors, (no more having to turn the bottle to the side to see the flavor name, or our brand name), and can we talk about the drops down the side!?!
Cohesive designs for both our core and seasonal flavors
We could not have done this without our incredibly talented & patient designer, our friend Meg from Love and Victory, she really captured exactly what we were lookin for; simple, straightforward, yet classy.
Thanks also goes out to our photographer Natalie of Beehive Photo for the great shots.
And last but not least to our printer, Blue Label Packaging for their patience, top notch products & gold star customer service!
